Novice Rep, 2007-2008 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

Awards Night for Novice to PeeWee Boys and Girls Teams will be held Thursday, April 24th at 6:30 pm at the Saltford Valley Hall.

The McDonald’s Novice Rep started their best of five playoff round facing the Saugeen Shores Storm on Thursday Feb. 14th at the MRC. The game started with the Storm coming out strong and the Sailors struggling to find their game playing on the big ice for the first time of the season. The first period would go scoreless but early in the second Goderich would get on the board with a goal from Darren Lockie assisted by Ashley Bakker and Ben Derrough. The McDonald’s Novice Rep Team took part in the Dave Clarke Memorial Novice Tournament this past weekend. The first game of the tourney on Saturday Feb.2nd would be against Ingersoll which the team had easily beaten at the Durham tourney. The game started off looking good for the Sailors scoring just 25 seconds into the game with a beautiful pass from behind the net by Megan Johnston to Kyle Larkin for the one timer. Along with winning the teams first two games of the month and capturing the Lil Huskies tournament championship the Novice Rep Team won another four games during the month. On Saturday Jan.12 the McDonald’s Novice Rep traveled to Port Elgin to face Saugeen Shores for their last meeting of the regular season. Saugeen would get on the board first midway through the first period with Goderich answering back towards the end of the period.
