McDonald’s Novice Rep Ends Winning Streak at Six
On Friday Dec.7th at the Goderich Memorial Arena the McDonald’s Novice Rep faced off against BCH for their second meeting of the season.  After losing the first meeting of the season Goderich was determined to win this one.  The first period started out slow but the sailors soon picked up the pace scoring two unanswered goals midway through.  The second started off with Goderich scoring three goals in the first two minutes holding BCH off the board until midway through the period.  During the third both teams fought hard with each coming out of the period with only a single goal giving Goderich the 6 – 3 win. Scoring for Goderich were Darren Lockie (2), Nate Helesic (2), Cameron Brenner and Trent Buchanan with assists to Bayden Parent (2), Ben Derrough, Darren Lockie and Nate Helesic.

Saturday Dec. 8th the McDonald’s Rep traveled to Walkerton for their third meeting of the season.  It didn’t take Goderich long to get on the board scoring just 18 sec. in which set the pace for the rest of the game.  Goderich would go on to score five more goals before Walkerton would get their first goal late in the third with the Sailors answering right back with another. Walkerton would score one more before the game was to end with the final score Goderich 7 Walkerton 2.  Scoring for Goderich were Ben Derrough (3), Nate Helesic (2), Cameron Brenner and Kyle Larkin with assists by Kyle Larkin (2), Megan Johnston, Nicholas Peer, Bayden Parent, Trent Buchanan and Nate Helesic. 

Sunday Dec. 9th Goderich traveled to Listowel for their second meeting of the season with the first going to Listowel in a hard fought battle.  Listowel struck first early in the period and then again midway through the period but Goderich answered back with two to end the first in a tie.  Listowel would score the only goal in the second and again strike early in the third.  Goderich returned scoring one but then penalty trouble struck the Sailors and Listowel capitalized scoring two PP goals.  Goderich scored another to end the period with a 6 – 4 loss, the first after 6 straight wins.  Scoring for Goderich were Kyle Larkin (2), Nate Helesic and Ben Derrough with assists going to Ashley Bakker (2), Ben Derrough and Jack Morris.
