McDonald’s Novice Rep on a Roll Winning Three More
On Sunday Nov. 25th the McDonald’s Novice Rep Team faced off against the Walkerton Hawks for their second meeting of the season. Walkerton played a tough first period with Goderich finally getting two on the board in the last minute of the period.  Goderich went on to score another three unanswered goals in the second.  Early in the third Walkerton got on the board but with Goderich’s hard skating and good back checking Goderich would be the only team to score again in the period for a final score of Goderich 6 – 1. Scoring for Goderich was Nate Helesic with the Hat Trick, Ben Derrough (2) and Cameron Brenner with assists going to Darren Lockie (2), Cameron Brenner (2), Nate Helesic and Bayden Parent.

Monday Nov. 26th Goderich traveled to Southampton to face off against Saugeen Shores, both teams started off playing solid defense until midway through the first when Goderich’s offence struck with three unanswered goals.  During the second Goderich continued playing solid defensive hockey putting two more on the board.  The third period again with great goaltending from Liam Shore and an excellent team effort at both ends of the rink allowed Goderich to score four more unanswered goals for a final score of 9 – 0.  A well deserved shutout to Liam Shore with scoring going to Cameron Brenner (2), Nate Helesic (2), Bayden Parent, Ben Derrough, Megan Johnston, Kyle Larkin, and Darren Lockie. Assists went to Cameron Brenner (3), Nate Helesic (3), Darren Lockie (2), Ben Derrough (3), Megan Johnston, Ashley Bakker, Kody Ritchie and Troy Peters.

Friday Nov. 30th Goderich hosted the Kincardine Flyers for their third meeting of the season.  Kincardine came out skating hard keeping Goderich on their toes until the Sailors took the lead early in the period but the flyers answered back soon after to tie it up.  Goderich soon scored again to take over the lead by the end of the period.  Then early in the second Goderich’s offence picked it up a notch scoring three more in the period with the Flyers getting one more.  Again solid defense and two way play by the forwards allowed the Sailors to go on and score five more unanswered goals for a final score of 10 – 2.  Scoring for Goderich were Ben Derrough and Nate Helesic both with a hat trick with single goals going to Kody Ritchie, Ashley Bakker, Darren Lockie and Megan Johnston.  Assists went to Darren Lockie, Ben Derrough and Bayden Parent.
