Atom Hyundai AE, U11, 2014-2015 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

The Sailors played their final game of the Neilson Cup on Saturday afternoon. Saturday’s game was an away game at the P&H Centre in Hanover. The game was a penalty filled 5-3 loss to the Hanover Falcons. With the loss, the Sailors’ record in the Neilson Cup was 1-5.

The Sailors took on the Listowel Cyclones this weekend in Neilson Cup action. The Sailors had been shutout by the Cyclones in their previous game. The Sailors’ only penalty of the game came midway through the first period. Wesley was called for slashing sending them to the penalty kill. Goderich was successful in killing off the penalty and continued to attack. They opened the scoring with 26 seconds remaining in the period on a goal by Jordan assisted by Kaelan Erb. However, the Cyclones tied the game only 10 seconds later.

The Atom AE Hyundai Sailors returned to round robin play this weekend in the Neilson Cup series with a home game against the Hanover Falcons at the Maitland Recreation Centre. Saturday evening’s game was the home half of the two games with the Falcons. The previous week’s game in Hanover had been cancelled due to weather and has been rescheduled for March 7th.

The Atom AE Hyundai Sailors continued the round robin portion of the Neilson Cup with a home game against the Walkerton Capitals. Friday evening’s game was the home half of the two games with the Walkerton Capitals at the Maitland Recreation Centre. The previous week’s game in Walkerton ended in disappointment with a 3-2 loss in overtime.

This weekend the Atom AE Hyundai Sailors continued the round robin portion of the Neilson Cup with an away game against the Walkerton Capitals. The Sailors only regular season win (6-4) was against the Capitals on November 8, 2014. The other game in the regular season series with Walkerton was a narrow 2-1 loss the following day at the Memorial Arena.
