On January 22, 2013, the Goderich Sailors Atom LL2 hosted the Goderich Sailors Atom LL1. This was a battle of friendly rivals that witnessed great saves and great goals. For the first time all season the Atom LL2 came out with a quick start scoring a goal just 2:20 into the game.
But the Atom LL1 team answered back with their first goal at 8:41. It did not take the Atom LL2 to pot their second goal just two minutes later. By the end of the first the Atom LL2 team had the lead 2-1. Both Sailor teams traded goals in the second and then with only 1:15 the Atom LL2 struck again to settle the score at 4-2 heading into the third and final period. The third period was full of great hockey with both teams scoring big goals but it wasn't to be for the Atom LL1 team and the Atom LL2 won the rematch 9-6. Goal scorers included: Hartin (4), Roth (4), and Paola (1).
