When a Loss Becomes a Victory
On November 26, 2012, the Atom LL2 travelled to the first place BCH Ice Dogs at their Hensall arena.
Goderich played a sound defence first game through the first period holding the high powered Ice Dogs to 5 shots. BCH finally got on the scoreboard in the second tallying 2 goals but the Sailors continued to scratch and claw their way throughout the rest of the second period. In the third, the Sailors began to pinch at the BCH blue-line in order to create some more offence and were rewarded when Kylen potted his first goal of the game. Grayson continued his strong year stopping 13 of 16 shots to record a 0.8125 save percentage. Unfortunately for the young Sailor team the game ended 3-1 in the favour of the Ice Dogs. All coaches and players involved believe this loss to be a victory as they now know they can compete with the big dogs in the league!
