PeeWee Scotiabank LL2 Finish Season - Look Forward to Strong Play-offs!
Submitted By sdoherty on Sat 02 13, 16
The Goderich PeeWee local league teams faced off against each other at the Maitland Recreation Centre last Friday night in what would be Scotiabank LL2's last game of the regular season.  Scotiabank LL2 began the game strong with stellar defense early that contained the Kinsmen LL1’s attempts to get into scoring position.  Then, midway through the first period, LL2 lit up the scoreboard on a goal by Remi W (assisted by Daerien R and Kaleb C).

The second period was a solid outing for both teams with effort levels high but equal play and proficient goal-tending limited scoring to the lone goal scored by the Kinsmen LL1 squad.  With the second period ending with the score tied at 1-1 – the atmosphere was electric with parents from both sides anxiously awaiting what would surely be a stupefying third period.

However, the third period was a lop-sided affair that saw the Kinsmen LL1 score 5 unanswered goals and they took the win 6-1.  Scotiabank LL2 learned a lot from that period – things I’m sure they’ll apply when they meet the Kinsmen LL1 team in the play-offs!

All in all the PeeWee Scotiabank LL2 team had a great season.   Although they finished 4th in the South Division – they were actually tied with Mitchell in terms of points and they were only one point behind second-place Drayton.  Please see the table below for stats from all 24 games this season (includes exhibition and tournaments).  Have a great play-offs PeeWee Scotiabank LL2!
