Sailors Earn Back-to-back Shut-outs
After a three-week break from regular season play the PeeWee
Scotiabank LL2 returned to form with a 5-0 win over the visiting
Crusaders. Missing two key players in
Aidan A and Joey C, the Sailors had their work cut out for them heading into
the afternoon match against the Blyth-Brussels squad at the Maitland Recreation
Centre. The Sailors came together with a
solid offensive effort lead by Remi W (who scored a hat-trick) and Jensen P
(who scored the other two goals of the game).
The goals were buoyed by sound passing with assists going to Liam D (2),
Aidan D, Jack L and Kaleb C.
In addition to adept play-making, the game was won thanks to hard physical effort and responsible defensive play. Daerien R had a very strong two-way game and the defense, made up of Caden B, Kaleb C, Cole W and Spencer W, were tenacious. Finally, a nod goes out to Grayson O – always solid in net, Grayson made a series of key saves yesterday on route his third shut-out of the regular season. Great outing Sailors!
