Rough Loss
The Goderich Sailors Zehrs Markets Atom team travelled to Ripley on Saturday morning for an early contest with the Kincardine Kinucks team 2.  The game started out well for the team as they were able to control most of the action for the first period and a half.

This game saw Adam notching an unassisted goal on a hard wrist shot after skating end to end through all five of the Kinucks players, Cierra smacked in a rebound grabbing her first goal of the season with assists going to Kate and John, and she later scored her second goal of the game on an assist from Kate for the teams fourth goal.  Liam was able to score his first goal of the season and first goal of his young career smacking a loose puck into the back of the net with the assist going to Jaden.  This would become the new team season high for goals scored in a game, which is an accomplishment, the team is beginning to score more frequently game by game.  There was even a fifth goal almost scored late in the third when the team was mounting a comeback that Adam shot and it squeezed by the goalie but not quite across the line, John hustled hard into the net to poke it across the line, but the goalie and two Kinucks players pounced on the puck and John as everyone went crashing into the net area.  The Sailors final two goals came late in the game where they were able to make it interesting, however Kincardine answered back quickly with two of their own and they were able to skate away to the 9-4 victory.

The Sailors played a strong game despite the final on the board, and a season high of six players notched points in this game.  Keep up the hard work Sailors.
