Tough Loss
The Goderich Sailors Zehrs Markets Atom team hosted the BCH Ice Dogs on Friday night at the Maitland Recreation Center in an exhibition. This was the first time this season these two teams have faced each other.
Throughout the first two periods the Sailors were able to match the pace BCH would set, however an early goal in the first and another early goal in the second would see Goderich down 2-0 heading into the third. In the third period Goderich continued to force the play as there was action on both ends of the ice, but the Ice Dogs wanted this game and kept coming right at Goderich netting four more goals in the third. With seven minutes left in the game Nolan was able to give the team and fans some excitement as he skated down the ice and fired a shot that snuck by the BCH goalie breaking the shutout. Final score of this game ended up 6-1.
Goderich next plays the same Ice Dogs team on Sunday afternoon in Hensall in a regular season game.
