Showdown in Tiverton
Goderich Sailors Zehrs Markets Atom team travelled to Tiverton to take on the Kincardine Kinucks team 1 Sunday afternoon.  With high hopes in the dressing room among the players, a win looked to be within reach.

Right from the first puck drop the Sailors battled hard in both ends of the ice.  With end to end action going on, the team was relentless.  Even with the strong surge of play from Goderich, Kincardine was able to end the first period with a 1-0 lead.

In the second period the action would continue and Goderich would show the Kinucks that they were here to play.  Goderich would come close to tying the game early in the second when Jaden went in on a breakaway and took a shot that hit the goalies stick, then crossbar.  This did not deter the Sailors as they would manage to tie the game up when Adam went end to end for an undeniable one on one chance with the goalie where he fired it high and it went in off the goalies mask and into the top corner of the net.  After the second period the game was tied 1-1, setting up for an exciting finish.

In the third the action would continue in both ends of the ice, however the Kinucks were able to score a goal with just under three minutes left in the game to pull ahead 2-1.  Then Goderich was handed a penalty late in the game and Kincardine sealed the win with a power play goal with just under a minute left in the game giving them a 3-1 win.

Once again Goderich worked hard from beginning to end and can walk away from this game with their heads high.  The team is really showing their opposition that they are ready to fight for the puck every game and no team will face the Sailors and have an easy task.
