Atom AE's Back at Five Hundred
On March 3, 2014, the Sailors traveled north to face the Saugeen Shores Storm. The Sailors got off to a slow start when on the very first shot on net beat the Sailor goalie. Right away the parents in the stands felt this could be a long night.
But late in the first period Wade picked up the puck along the side boards and carried it behind the Sailor's net and fired the puck around the boards where Eli picked up the puck and headed down the ice on a break-away. Eli tied the game with 1:24 left in the first period.
In the second period, Eli struck again with his second goal of the game putting the Sailors a head 2-1. Four minutes later Kaleb made a beautiful pass to Jacob who performed a power move and skated towards the front of the net scoring five-hole on the Storm goalie. By the end of the second period the Sailors were up 3-1.
Although the Storm kept the Sailors on their toes, the Sailors were able to strike one more time before the game was over. Wade held the line to keep the play in the Storm end by firing the puck down the boards and behind the net where Kaidan passed the puck back behind the net to Evan who quickly found Eli parked in front of the net. Tic, Tac, Toe…Goal!
After a four wins in a row the Sailors find themselves back at .500.
