Atom AE's Win Neilson WOAA Championship
The Hyundai of Goderich Atom AE's defeated the Milverton Drives 4-2 in game three of the Neilson WOAA Championship on Sunday afternoon.
Milverton started the scoring half way through the first period on a scramble in front of the Sailors net but the Sailors replied just two minutes later when Eli struck for his first of two goals on the afternoon.
In the second period, with the game tied 1 a piece, Milverton struck again but the Sailors replied just .27 later when Eric fired a shot from the blue line that found its way through a crowd in front of the net. This set the table for a very entertaining third period.
The Sailors struck early in the third period when Jacob scored his first goal of the game just .39 seconds into the frame. The two teams battled from one end of the rink to the other but with just 1:42 left Evan scored on a nice feed from Eli clinching the Neilson WOAA trophy for him and his teammates. Final score 4-2.
The Sailors capped off an incredible 10 wins and 1 loss through the Neilson WOAA playoff round!
