Sailors Beat West Grey 6-0
On February 22, 2014, the Goderich Sailors hosted West Grey to a playoff game. The Sailors came out flying firing 8 shots on the West Grey goalie in the first period alone.
Joey started the Goderich scoring with just 3:15 remaining in the first period. Evan dug the puck out of the corner and passed the puck to Jack who fired the puck on net. The West Grey goalie made the save but could not react quick enough to stop Joey on the rebound. Just one minute later Jack got the Sailors on the board again scoring with only 2:15 left to play in the first period, assisted by Evan. Next, Wade skated down the left wing and shot the puck on goal which found its way throughout the net-minder and within a two minute span of hockey the Sailors were taking a 3-0 lead into the second period.
In the second period Keegan and Aidan worked together well setting Eli up to score the Sailors 4th goal of the game. The Sailors would stretch the four goal lead to five when Joey went back to the West Grey net for seconds and scored his second goal of the game which was assisted by Keegan and Jack. Then with just 8:56 left to play in the game, Aidan received a nice pass from Kaleb and made sure the puck found a nice place for a rest in the West Grey net.
Ben looked comfortable finally receiving goal support and cruised to his second shut out of the season.
