Game Two vs. BCH
On January 26, 2014, the Sailors Atom AE team traveled to Clinton to face the BCH Icedogs in game two of their round one OMHA playoff. The Sailors out shot and out chanced the Icedogs in game 1 but ended up on the short end of the goal scoring list. This time they were out to even up the series at 1 game a piece.
Once again the Sailors opened up the game with chance after chance but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. This left the parents in the stands nervous and tense. These feelings were magnified when at 8:34 of the second period the Icedogs opened the scoring adding pressure to the already tense team. The Sailors did not back off and in the third things began to turn.
With only 7:22 left to play in the game, Jack sprung himself loose from the BCH blue line and headed in alone on a break-away. Jack made no mistake going top shelf, right beside the peanut butter, to send both the Sailors players and fans into a frenzy!
The Sailors continued to fire pucks at the Icedog's goalie and finally Eli was able to put the puck by the netminder with only 2:32 to play in the game. His goal put the Sailors over the top and tied the series 1-1 heading back to Goderich for game 3 on Thursday night.
