Sailors Defeat Mount Forest, News, Atom AE, U11, 2013-2014 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

On Saturday, December 21, 2013, the Sailors played host to the Mount Forest Rams.  The Rams opened the scoring at the 6:07 mark to take an early lead in the game.  However, Aidan answered back for the Sailors just 3 minutes later.  Unfortunately for the Sailors the Rams scored their second goal of the game with only 0.4 seconds remaining in the first period to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.

The second period was a tight match until Keegan carried the puck up the middle of the ice and fired a shot passed the Ram's goalie making the game a 2-2 tie with 7:00 minutes to play in the second period.  Eli put the Sailors ahead for the first time in the game after receiving a nice pass from Kaleb putting the Sailors up 3-2 with only 0.46 left to play in the second period.

The Sailors started to dominate the game in the third when Eli found Kaden all alone in front of the Ram's net scoring the Sailors 4th goal of the game.  The Sailors were not done yet.   Kaden returned the favour when he passed Eli the puck and Eli was able to score another Goderich goal putting the Sailors up 5-2.  And then with just 3:47 left to play in the game, Kaleb received a pass from Jacob along the side boards and fired the puck at the net which found its way by the Ram's goalie completing the Sailors scoring and the game at 6-2.
