The Sailors faced off against the Kincardine
Kinucks in their final and most exciting game of the round robin playoffs. The two teams were evenly matched, with
the first period ending scoreless despite a number of chances on both
sides. In the second period the
Kinucks were able to land two goals and go ahead with a 2-0 lead. The Sailors fought back in the third
period and played superb hockey with Ryan potting a breakaway goal off a nice
pass from Teethal to make it a close 2-1 game. With less than 2 minutes on the clock, Adrien secured the
tie with a nice shot on a breakaway from a set-up by Jack and Ryan.

March 3 – Goderich
Sailors at Tiverton Thunder. After a couple of tough loses to BCH and Tiverton, the
chance to move on in the playoffs for the Sailors was just out of their
reach. So - with nothing to lose,
the coaches made a great decision to have a fun reversal of roles game. With the forward lines playing defense
and the defensive lines playing offense, the kids had a blast and actually
played a really strong game in their second match against the Tiverton Thunder! Teethal got things going for the
Sailors with a nice breakaway goal at the 7:58 mark of the first period. The Thunder then got 2 quick goals on
Goderich to make it 2-1 in their favour at the end of the period.

February 21 – Lucknow
Sepoys at Goderich. The Sailors met the Lucknow Sepoys
for their second game in the playoffs – this time with home ice advantage. The first period was a back and forth
battle, with Remi landing the first goal of the game with 3 minutes left in the
period on a set-up from Connor and Adrien. At the 6 minute mark of the second period, Ryan put the
Sailors on the scoreboard again after weaving through 3 Lucknow players and
perfectly placing the puck in the top shelf. Two minutes later, Lucknow answered back with their first goal
of the game to close the gap to 2-1.

February 16-17,
Penetanguishene. The kids played some great hockey
and bonded as a team. The
enjoyment began with hotel mini stick and pool game camaraderie against the
West Lincoln Team the night before.
The first game was an exciting
game against Lindsay, ending in a double shoot out. The first period ended 1-0 for Lindsay, with Goderich
fighting back hard in the second period ending 2-1 for Lindsay. In the third, multiple shots were made
by Goderich in an attempt to tie.
McCabe scored the goal to tie 2:2, putting the game into shoot out. The
evenly matched teams eventually went into double shoot out, with Lindsay sneaking
one extra goal to win the game.

February 9 and 10 – Goderich
at BCH Ice Dogs and Lucknow Sepoys. Seven was the magic number this
weekend with the Sailors taking their first two games of the playoffs with
decisive 7-3 and 7-2 wins over BCH and Lucknow! The first game against the BCH Ice Dogs started with a nice
set-up from Brendan to Ryan to make it 1-0. Remi then put the Sailors ahead 2-0 with his signature wrist
shot – however, the Ice Dogs answered back near the end of the first period to
