Two for Two Against the Sepoys!
February 21 – Lucknow
Sepoys at Goderich. The Sailors met the Lucknow Sepoys
for their second game in the playoffs – this time with home ice advantage. The first period was a back and forth
battle, with Remi landing the first goal of the game with 3 minutes left in the
period on a set-up from Connor and Adrien. At the 6 minute mark of the second period, Ryan put the
Sailors on the scoreboard again after weaving through 3 Lucknow players and
perfectly placing the puck in the top shelf. Two minutes later, Lucknow answered back with their first goal
of the game to close the gap to 2-1.
With 39 seconds left in the period, Teethal dug hard for the puck in front of the Lucknow net and landed a third goal for the Sailors off an assist from Curtis and Cody. The third period appeared as if it was going to be scoreless, but Ryan landed his second goal of the game with 5 seconds left in the game off an assist from Brendan. Joey was spectacular in net throughout the game and had some great backup from Connor, Paige, Jack and Adrien on defense. The 4-1 win for the Sailors was the third playoff win for the kids!
