PeeWee Reps continue their playoff rounds
After being defeated by the Listowel Cyclones in a tight, six game series from the OMHA quarter finals, the Goderich Lions Club PeeWee Rep team has re-grouped and is playing some good hockey.

The series with Listowel was an exciting one, to say the least.  The Sailors hosted the Cylones on Fri Feb 8th for the 5th game of the series.  Both teams were intent on winning and the final score was 2-2, after one 10 minute period of OT.  This forced a 6th and deciding game back in Listowel on Monday Feb 11th.  This game ended in regulation time, 0-0.  A 10 minute sudden death OT period was played and Goderich found themselves on the short end of the stick when the Listowel offence would fire a rocket past the Sailor netminder to win the game 1-0.  The Goderich Sailors should be proud of their efforts as this series was very evenly matched and could have gone to either team.

Next round saw the Lions Club PeeWee Rep team face off against the Walkerton Capitols in the quarter finals of Group 4 WOAA playoffs.  The first game was played in Walkerton on Sat Feb 16th.  Goderich would win this game 3-2 to take a 2 point lead in the series.  Scoring for Goderich was Taylor Helesic, Clayton Campbell and Zack Horton.

Game #2 was played Fri Feb 22, 2008 at the MRC.  The local boys did not play well as a team and would find themselves losing a close game 2-1.  Scoring the lone Goderich goal was Zack Horton.

Game #3 came back to the MRC on Saturday Feb 23, 2008.  Goderich would dominate this game and go on to win the game 7-1 and the series 2 games to 1.  The boys played well as a team and were making a lot of great passes.  This seemed to make the difference from the previous night's game. Scoring for Goderich was Brandon Johnston, Zack Horton (2), Chace Duckworth (2), Carson Lamb and  Taylor Helesic.

They boys now advance to the semi-final WOAA playoff round against the Saugeen Shores Storm and are also looking forward to Young Canada Week, which starts next Friday March 7th.  Game time 7:20pm vs the New Hamburg Huskies.
