PeeWee Reps finish first playoff round with 2 more wins
The Goderich Lions Club PeeWee Rep team finished their first round of playoffs with a 3-1 record, defeating BCH 4-1 and Kincardine 4-3 in OT.  These two wins will ensure the team advances to the second round of playoffs.

On Friday, January 18th, the Sailors hosted the BCH Icedogs.  After winning the first game against BCH with a score of 4-3, the boys were determined to make this game less stressful for their family and friends to watch.

The boys were a little sluggish to start and BCH scored early.  This seemed to give the boys the fire they needed and they soon opened the scoring with DJ Stevenson banging one past the BCH netminder.    Goderich answered again in the second period when Brandon Johnston found himself open on a breakaway to put the puck over the left shoulder of the BCH netminder.  The boys would head to the dressing room up 2-1.

The boys came out flying in the 3rd period and scored two more times, with Chace Duckworth notching both.  The game would end 4-1 for the Sailors.

The Sailors then travelled to Kincardine on Tues January 22, to play their last game of the first round of playoffs.  Kincardine beat them in a shootout after 2 periods of Sudden-death OT in the SIlver Stick and had scored late in the 3rd period to win the first game of the playoffs so our boys were determined to win this game and rid themselves of "Kincardinitis".

Kincardine opened the scoring in the 1st period however Goderich tied it up when DJ Stevenson tucked the puck through the "5 hole" on a nice behind the net feed from Brandon Johnston.  Kincardine went ahead to make the game 2-1 however Goderich answered back to make it 2-2 on a goal by Chace Duckworth.  The boys headed to the dressing room for the flood with a tie game.

In the third period, the boys took the lead when Chace Duckworth found the twine, much to the frustration of the Kincardine netminder.  The boys would hold this lead until 5 seconds left in the game when Kincardine managed to tie the game.  A 10 minute Sudden Death OT period was started but Goderich was determined to win the game and Chace Duckworth beat the Kincardine goalie to secure the win for the Sailors.

The boys will wait until Thursday night to find out who they will play in the next round of playoffs.
