Sailors End Season With Loss in Zurich
Submitted By sdoherty on Sun 01 29, 17
The PeeWee Kinsmen LL lost their final regular season game 6-0 against the Thunder at the Zurich Arena this afternoon.  Although the outcome wasn’t great – the team can take away some positives.  The team strung together some decent passing plays today – which is a real positive.  Unfortunately, the Zurich goaltender was standing on his head so, despite their best efforts, our players just couldn’t find the back of the net.

For example, Spencer W made a beauty pass to Jaden M who was open in front of the Zurich goal but the net-minder managed to make a startling save.  Similarly, Liam D and Spencer W made a nice passing play to Aidan D who ripped a shot off right at the doorstep but the Zurich goalie once again robbed the Sailors.

Spencer W, Sawyer N and Adam R all got nice shots off at different points in the game but they were all turned aside.  Despite losing 6-0 – I don’t think the Sailors were totally outplayed – the bounces just weren’t going our way and the team came up against a strong goaltender outing.

Stay positive Sailors and continue to make those passes and you’ll score some big goals in the play-offs.  See below for a summary of regular season points for our skaters.  At the end of the play-offs I’ll post the stats for the entire year including exhibition, regulation, play-offs and tournament games.  The Kinsmen Crew ended the 17-game regular season with a record of 8W – 3T – 6L.  Have a good play-off run Sailors!
