Sailors End Play-offs with 0-7-1 Record
Submitted By sdoherty on Fri 03 17, 17
The PeeWee Kinsmen LL finished a disappointing play-off run with a 5-0 loss to the Zurich Thunder at the Memorial Arena on March 5th and a 4-2 loss in Seaforth on March 9th.  The Zurich game was not our best outing and the score reflected the rather chaotic struggle for the Kinsmen Crew.

The Sailors seemed to rebound a bit in their match-up against the Stars.  The Sailors played a solid first two periods and ended up heading into the third up 1-0 on an unassisted goal by Captain Adam R.  However, the Stars came out strong in the third and tied the game within the first minute of the period.  Not giving up – the Sailors managed to regain the lead two minutes later on a goal from Jaden M (assisted by Jesse V and Caden B).  Unfortunately, that lead would short-lived as the Stars took over eventually scoring three unanswered goals in the third and taking the “W” 4-2.

That was a tough season for a young team that came out strong in the beginning of the year.  Although the season ended on a skid that carried on throughout the play-offs – the team did have a 100% turn-out for the Orillia tourney and there’s still a shot at redemption by stealing a few games at the Young Canada Week Tourney.  Let’s go Sailors!
