Sailors Play “All Right” in Teeswater
Submitted By sdoherty on Sat 01 28, 17
The PeeWee Kinsmen LL managed to eek out a “W” against South Bruce Blades at the Teeswater Arena last Sunday.  Although we came away with the win – the Sailors continue to play a highly individualized style of hockey which will likely catch up to them in the play-offs.

The Sailors took the lead early in this one on an unassisted goal by Spencer W a few minutes into the first period.  However, that lead would prove to be difficult to maintain as the Blades scored early into the second period.  Luckily, Spencer W netted another wrister on an unassisted effort a minute later.  This back and forth continued for the rest of the game – with Blades scoring and then Spencer answering with another unassisted goal – in the end Spencer would score all four Sailor’s goal and secure the 4-3 win.

Overall, the Sailors showed good effort in their physical play in this one and both goalies made some beauty saves to keep the team within reach of the win.  However, the team needs to start passing more and try to get set up in the offensive zone to give the puck handler options and create scoring chances.  This team won’t go far in the play-offs riding the deking ability of one or two players.  Teamwork Sailors – teamwork!
