End of Regular Season
On Saturday January 2nd the Midget AE Sailors traveled to Kincardine to face the Kinucks in the final regular season game.
The Sailors came out fast, but the Kinucks goalie was on his game. Alex grabbed a rebound, on the powerplay, and put Goderich up 1-0 late in the first. Assists went to Ryan and Andy. Braeden turned and fired one in from the high slot, assisted by Troy, to put the Sailors up 2-0 after two. Both teams had chances in the third, but were unable to score, leaving the final score 2-0 for the Sailors. Greg recorded his third shutout of the year in the win.
The Midget AE Sailors finish the regular season with a 12-1-1 record, good enough to clinch first in their WOAA division. They scored an impressive 74 goals in their 14 league games and ony allowed 22, both league bests. The Sailors are off to Niagara Falls this week, to compete in the Silver Stick International Championships, and await word on their playoff opponents.
