McGee Motors Novice Reps Keep Rolling with 5th Straight Win
This past weekend saw the McGee Motors Novice Reps travel to Seaforth to face the Stars on the back end of a  home and home exhibition series and then to Listowel to play the Cyclones.

In Seaforth the coaching staff saw the team continue their recent winning ways as they passed the puck, drove the net and played well defensively in a decisive 5-0 win. The shorthanded Sailors were helped out by affiliates Cohen and Cole who played very well at both ends of the ice.

The Sailors scored two first period goals by Sawyer and Duncan with Kingston getting the lone assist.

The Sailors continued to fire pucks at the Seaforth netminder in the second period but came away empty handed, but they were not to be denied as they scored three third period goals by Sawyer, Ducan and Dean with assists going to Connor, Kingston, Cole and Duncan.

Owen shut the door and made some timely saves for his fourth shutout of the season. Hardest Working Player of the Game helmet went to Duncan for his aggressiveness, commitment to back checking and his ability to make some great passes.

Points went to Duncan (2g 1a), Sawyer (2g), Dean (1g), Kingston (2a), Connor (1a) and Cole (1a).

On Sunday the McGee Motors Novice Reps traveled to Listowel for a regular season game with the team firing on all cylinders. The team continued to pass the puck and drive the net and it paid off as they came away with their fifth straight win, 9-2.

The Sailors threw a lot of shots at the Cyclones netminder in the first period but only came away with one goal from Sawyer on a breakaway. In the second period the flood gates opened as the Sailors scored five more times as they continued to pin the Cyclones in their own end with the defence of Connor, Cohen, Simon and Jacob pinching at every opportunity and the forwards passing the puck to the front of the net. Goals were scored by Jacob, Duncan and Sawyer with three. Assists went to Dean with two and Duncan, Dylan, Kingston and Cohen picking up singles.

In the third the Sailors practiced their face off draws and cycling the puck down low and scored three more times, as Dylan and Dean each scored one by driving hard to the net followed by Kingston with a beauty wrister to the top of the net for a 9-2 win.  Assists on the third period goals went to Sawyer, Cohen, Duncan, Dylan and Simon. Owen again turned the opposition away with some incredible saves and the defence were there to clear away any rebounds.  Hardest Working Player of the Game Helmet went to Connor for his commitment to defence, his confidence pinching in the offensive zone and making some great outlet passes.

Points went to Sawyer (4g 1a), Duncan (1g 2a), Dylan (1g 2a), Dean (1g 2a), Kingston (1g 1a), Jacob (1g), Cohen (2a) and Simon (1a).

Come on out to the Memorial Arena on December 13th when the McGee Motors Novice Reps host the Mount Forest Rams at 1:00 pm.
