McGee Motors Novice Reps Lose Two Over Weekend
On the 14th and 15th of November the McGee Motors Novice Reps traveled to Port Elgin to face the Saugeen Shores Storm and then to Kincardine to face the Flyers.

Everyone knew these two games were going to be tough and the team had to play well. In Port Elgin on Saturday the team was short handed with a couple of key injuries and it was evident as the Storm scored early and often winning the game 9-4.

Kingston scored a goal late in the opening period with Sawyer and Duncan drawing the assists that cut the Storm lead 3-1 entering the middle period.

In the middle period the Storm continued to buzz around the Sailors net firing shot after shot at Owen, who made a lot of first saves however Sailors were caught running around in their own end and the Storm were able to capitalize on rebounds. Sawyer was able to score his first of the game about half way through the period but the Storm had a 7-2 lead heading to the third.

In the third the Sailors did not give up and showed some determination to at least win the period. Sawyer scored his second and third goals of the game with assists going to Kingston and Cohen but the Storm answered with two of their own ending the game 9-4. The Hardest Working Player of the Game helmet went to Sawyer for his hard work, back checking and three goal effort.

Points went to Sawyer (3g,1a), Kingston (1g, 1a) Duncan (1a) and Cohen (1a).

The next day the McGee Motors Novice Reps traveled to Kincardine and were determined to come out with a better effort. The Sailors had a great warm up and pressured the Flyers defence from the start of the game, however the Flyers goalie stood tall and the opening period was scoreless.

In the second the Flyers got on the board first after a goal mouth scramble saw them finally able to get one past Owen who was matching the Flyers goalie save for save.  A short time later the Flyers took a two goal lead however the Sailors continued to work hard as both Sawyer and Connor rang shots off the goal posts sending the game to the third with the home team still holding a 2-0 lead.

In the third it was more of the same, as Owen continued to make stellar save after stellar save and the Sailors continued to throw everything they had at the Flyers netminder but it was not meant to be as the Flyers won the close checking affair 2-0.

Hardest Working Player of the Game Helmet went to Owen who stood tall in between the pipes and kept a high powered Flyers offence to only two goals.

The Sailors travel to Mt. Forest next weekend to face the Rams in hopes to get back to their winning ways!!
