Sailors Defeat Lucknow in Game 1
On February 4, 2015, the Goderich Sailor Peewee AE's travelled to Lucknow to play game 1 of their playoff series.  In a game that Randy Carlyle would of been proud off and Peter Horachek would have been envious of the Sailors played WIDE OPEN hockey and came out on top on this night!

In a barn burner of a game, the Sailors came out flying and scored three goals in the first period on 9 shots. Joe scored 2 goals and Remi 1, while Remi, Joe and Jack all were rewarded with assists.  Lucknow tried to match the Sailor's effort scoring 2 of their own on 6 shots and the track meet was on.

In the second period, the Sailors broke the game wide open when Ethan, Joe, Eli, and Remi all scored with assists going to Remi, Dmitri, Adrien, and Ryan.  The Lucknow team had a hard time matching the Sailors speed and only managed the 1 goal half way through the second frame.

With confidence in their 7-4 lead, the Sailors came out flat in the third which allowed the Lucknow team to develop some momentum.  Lucknow scored 2 quick goals in the first five minutes of the third to cut the lead to 7-6 and the Sailor fans were back on the edge of their seats.  Thankfully, the Sailors could breathe again when Remi struck for his third goal of the game, thanks to Ethan's nice pass, and the Boatmen regained a two goal lead.  But Lucknow would not give up scoring again with only 4:46 left in the game.  Although the final few minutes were closer than Shawn, Joe, Tim, or DJ would have liked, Grayson shut the door to give the Boatmen the win.

Run and gun hockey at its best!
