Sailors Lack their Groove in Loss to Meteors
On January 18, 2015, the Goderich Kinsmen Sailors AE's played host to the Mitchell Meteors in the third game of their OMHA first round series.  With the series tied at one game a piece, the Boatmen desperately wanted to win game three before heading back to Mitchell for game four.

The first period started off like most games between the Sailors and Mitchell this season with teams going back and forth and end to end.  However, as the period went on the Sailors began to have more and more difficulty getting the puck out of their own zone and establishing an offensive presence in the Mitchell end of the rink.  And with 5:05 left to play in the first period Mitchell finally muscled a puck by Grayson to take a 1-0 lead.  Then one and a half minutes later, Mitchell struck again to take a 2-0 lead.  Luckily for the Sailors, Joe was able to break through the Meteor defence and snapped the puck by the Meteor goalie in order to cut the 2 goal deficit to 1.  By the end of the first period, Mitchell had the lead in shots 5-2 and on the scoreboard 2-1.

In the second period, the Sailors struggled again to get the puck out of their zone and to gain momentum in the Meteors end.  It wasn't until the 9:09 mark of the second period when Ethan finally broke the ice and got a shot on the Meteor's net.  The Boatmen struggled to get their groove on and looked out of sync all game.  Unfortunately for the Sailors the game ended 3-1 in the Meteors favour as they take a 2-1 series lead home to Mitchell.

Despite the loss, the Sailors have had a solid week of practise and the coaches have them focused on the challenge ahead.  Game four of the series is back in Mitchell Saturday afternoon.
