Sailors Go 1 and 2 at Christmas Classic Tournment
The Peewee Kinsmen AE's participated in the Christmas Classic Tournament in Niagra on the Lake and come home with 1 win and 2 losses but more experience which will help them heading into their final two regular season games.
The Sailors first faced-off against Streetsville where the Sailors were the dominate team all game. However, due to travel and slow legs to start the game, the Sailors were not able to come out flying the way they wanted and managed a 1 goal victory.
The Boatmen's second game was against an opponent of equal size, speed, and talent but unfortunately the game did not go as planned. The Sailors, unfortunately, ran into some bad luck and ended up competing against more than just the team from Pehelm (sp?). With phlegm stuck in their throats, they swallowed hard and faced their last opponent, Oakville.
In the Sailors final game, they faced-off against a very strong Oakville team. Needing a win in order to advance to the playoff round the boys skated hard and matched the Oakville team with speed, skill, and strength for most of the first two periods. Unfortunately, Oakville were able to hold off the Sailors advances and handed them their second loss bouncing them out of the tournament.
All though the Sailors and their fans believed they deserved to make the playoff round, they headed home with a few more games and experience under their belts.
