A Win on the Road Lifts Everyone's Spirits
On Wednesday night, the Goderich Kinsmen Peewee AE's traveled to the Sepoy town of Lucknow and although the team has played a lot of hockey over the last 2 weeks the team put forth a fabulous effort tonight.

The Sailors got behind the eight ball early when Lucknow scored just 24 seconds into the first period.  But the boys never gave up and continued to fight the good fight.  Although the Boatmen were out scored in the first, the boys out shot Lucknow 11-6.

In the second, Lucknow scored their second goal of the game and many fans in the stands were beginning to feel that old sinking feeling when finally the Sailors beat the Lucknow goalie to make the score 2-1.  Five minutes later, with pressure mounting, the Sailors struck again on a pure "blue collar goal" to tie the game up at 2-2.  With the game tied, the Sailors began to feel the momentum building.  Then with only 1:40 left to play in the second, the Sailors struck again for their third goal of the game to snatch the lead from the Lucknow team.  At the end of two periods, the shots on net supported that positive feeling that surrounded the Boatmen 16-11.

Then three minutes into the third, the Lucknow team was granted a penalty shot. And as the Lucknow skater powered his way through the slot and trying to deke the Sailor's goalie, the infamous "Johnny Bauer" poke check dislodged the puck from the Lucknow attacker keep the score 3-2 for the Sailors.  As the game came to a close, the Sailors scored one more to ensure victory and proceeded to exit the home of Paul Henderson and Dave Farrish with smiles on their faces.

Congratulations boys, well done!
