Lions Peewee Rep Sailors Visit Bay City Michigan
The Lions Goderich Pee-Wee Rep team travelled to our sister city Bay City Michigan to join the Bay County Blizzard Peewee teams for some fun goodwill games and team bonding time on Feb 28, March 1 & 2.

The Sailors appreciated the generosity and hospitality of the Bay City teams.

On arrival Friday evening, a large sign in the arena foyer welcomed our players.

On Friday night our team was invited to a power skating session with the two Bay City teams.
This allowed the three teams to meet each other and develop skills together.
After the intense power session we split squads and had a scrimmage for a fun way to end the evening.

Saturday we played Bay City Pee-Wee #1 team at 2:30 pm. The Goderich Lion Pee-Wee’s skated to a 6-3 win.

On Saturday night the 3 teams attended a Saginaw Spirit game where Goderich's home town boy Jacob Ringuette plays. After the game the team was able to meet Jacob and get his and the rest of the Spirits autographs as part of fan appreciation night.

On Sunday morning at 10 am we took on the Bay City Pee-Wee #2 team for another fun goodwill game.
Bay City jumped out to a lead early in the first. Carter put us on the board half way through the first with assists going to Justin and James. Three minutes later, Justin put us up by one on a rebound goal from a shot from Tyler. We took a two goal lead into the second on a three way passing play with David finishing off passes from Ethan B and Carter. Justin potted his second of the game with assists going to James and Carter. Bay City answered back with one before the period was done making the score 4-2 after 2 periods of play. Ethan B finished of a three way passing play from Dmitri and David. Josh L scored his first goal of the year on a shot from the point with Kyle and Ethan B picking up assists. Bay City cut the lead to 3 but David scored 8 seconds later to make the final score 7-3.

It was a great weekend. The boys made some new friends and had a fun team weekend.

I would like to Say Thank-you to the Bay County Blizzard Hockey club for all your hospitality this weekend.
