Tough Loss in Blyth
On Saturday, December 1, the Novice Rep Sailors were visitors to the Blyth/Brussels Bulldogs at the Blyth and District Community Centre. The game was a solid back-and-forth effort for both teams.
The Sailors played hard and skated well and their increasing confidence as a team was evident. Unfortunately for the Sailors, only luck separated the two teams and “Lady Luck” was not on our side for this match-up. The Bulldogs managed 3 goals, 2 of which appeared to be deflections off of a Sailors’ stick, the third goal a slow roller that also appeared to have made contact with a Sailor before sneaking past our goaltender, Ben G. Coaches were pleased with the improving play by our boys, and though the final score was a 3-0 loss, it could have easily went our way if luck had been on our side. GREAT work Sailors, keep it up! We have very tough teams to face this season but you have shown that with all members working hard and tuning in to your coaches, you ARE up to the task! Practise those shots and let’s score some goals!!! GO SAILORS!
