PeeWee Rep, U13, 2011-2012 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

       The Goderich Lions PeeWee Rep faced off on Saturday, Nov. 26th at the MRC against the Hanover Falcons.  The game started off with end to end action from both teams playing their hardest. It wasn’t until midway through the first when the play started getting rough and the Falcons goaltender would get injured in a scrum in the crease. The Goalie remained in the game but a little shaken, soon after the Sailors notched 3 goals in the period with the first being scored by Cody Treble assisted by Chad Treble.      Sunday, October 30th the Goderich Lions PeeWee Rep headed to Port Elgin to take on the Storm.  The team started off with a hard push into the offensive end and a pass back to the blue line from Mitchell Fisher to Jack Morris shooting from the point would find the back of the net just 18 seconds into the game.  The rest of the period would be hard fought as Sailors ran into penalty trouble.  Playing short handed most of the first the Sailors continued to play solid defensive hockey allowing the Storm few shots on net.

     The Goderich Sailors PeeWee Rep Team started their season early with the first game having the team travel to Saugeen Shores on Saturday, Sept.24th immediately after try-outs without even a practice under their belts.  The game was full of end to end action with the Sailors putting most of the pressure on the storm throughout the game.  The Team used the game as a learning experience with new teammates, new positions for some as well understanding the new regulations. The Sailors came up short losing 5-3 but the end result did not represent the effort or the continuous pressure applied ...

Members of the Goderich Sailors PeeWee Rep Hockey Team will be collecting empty beer/liquor bottles for the first annual GMHI Hockey Gives Back Community Fundraiser. If you wish to contribute please place your empties or canned goods at the end of your driveway/curb marked for Goderich Minor Hockey before 10 am on Saturday Oct. 15th. All proceeds from the Bottle Drive/BBQ will be donated to the Goderich Tornado Relief Fund. Canned goods will be donated to the local food bank. Thank you for your support!
