Don’t know what we need to do. Do we need a rabbit’s foot? Do we need a 4-leaf clover? Or should we wish on a star? The puck certainly isn’t bouncing our way!
Our team seems to get better each game but it doesn’t show in the final scores. We have breakaways, rushes, and close calls, but obviously they’re not enough, because the puck just seems to refuse to go in their net. We certainly did better than our first meeting with Zurich.
Curtis McCabe was on fire in the fist period, showing exceptional hustle, and a couple of good rushes. Samuel Hartin got robbed on a breakaway as the buzzer went at the end of the second period before he could shoot. It wasn’t a goalie problem as Thomas Kerr kept us to a 1-0 deficit for the first two periods and then Michael Blok had his game of the season. Through the overwhelming number of Zurich shots, breakaways, and good scoring chances he stood tall and only allowed two goals out of a countless number of shots. His goals against average was impressive considering the pounding he took If we keep improving we’ll be a force to reckon with. (Don’t count out the rabbit’s foot though)
