On The Way To The Cup?
    December 3, 2011
WE’RE ON FIRE NOW (2 wins in a row)!!!
Seriously though, the team is starting to gel as a team. Personally I think that last week’s win certainly raised confidence levels enough to let this team know that they are capable of winning and they did. Now they know it for sure. We are going to meet those teams that beat us before, and they won’t be ready for the new and improved Goderich Atom LL Machine. If we keep playing like we did in this game, we can look forward to a number of more wins in our near and continued future.

Our game plan was to score first, and Adrien Arbour must have been listening to that, as he netted one in the first period off of a rebound from Graham Roth. He was smart enough to follow the play in to the net (you may be rewarded with a juicy rebound). We finished the fist period just where we wanted to be (ahead by one to nothing).

In the 2nd Thomas Kerr (Goalie) had to remove himself from the game due to an ongoing bug, and not feeling well enough to continue. Our team seemed to loose concentration as Brussels scored with 8:16, 7:27, and 0:31 left in the period. Thankfully Graham Roth got one (unassisted) with 5:42 left in the period to end the period with a respectable 3-2 for Brussels.

It was all Goderich in the 3rd with Graham Roth scoring (unassisted) with 9:13 left (to tie it up 3-3). Tyler Hulley then got a feed from Jayden Shanahan to put us ahead by 4-3 with 3:14 left in the game. Once again we were able to hang on to the lead to end the game in another hard fought victory

MORE PERSONAL AND FAN OBSERVATIONS:

Tyler Hulley is a gem that works hard and was finally rewarded with a goal (he was due, if you watch the effort and consistency of his good play each game)

Thomas Glenn moved to defense, which seemed to be good for the team and for Thomas himself. He seems comfortable in the position and kept the puck in play in the opposition’s end throughout the game.

It’s nice that there are so many individual and team efforts that (even if not mentioned in this report) are being noticed by fans, family and friends.

KEEP IT UP!!!
