Comeback in Mitchell (almost)
November 19, 2011             We found our groove too late in the game but showed Mitchell that we are not going down without a fight. Even though plagued by injury and illness we still managed a decent showing. Tyler Hulley was out with an injury and was missed by the team. Adrien Arbour opened our scoring in the first period, assisted by Rory MacLennan, and Hunter Mclean. Graham Roth then scored one at the buzzer, assisted by Sam Hartin to finish out the first period with a respectable 4-2.

The second period was all Mitchell as the team was fighting to regroup after Thomas Kerr was injured to the point of not being able to finish the game. Mitchell took advantage by scoring 4 goals, finishing the second period 8-2.

The third period was when we started to show our determination and teamwork with the next goal going in by Adrien Arbour (unassisted), then by Graham Roth (assisted by Cody McNeil, and Hunter McLean), Adrien Arbour then netted the next two goals (to the delight of the fans) and both were assisted by Hunter McLean, and Brendan Frayne. Michael Blok held tough through this whole period by holding Mitchell scoreless and raising hopes of a possible comeback. We ran out of time and unfortunately had to settle for an 8-6 loss. What a game for Adrien!

Personal observations: Even more impressive than the amount of goals we scored are the amount of names listed in the assist column that were just as responsible for those goals. Hunter McLean 4, Brendan Frayne 2 etc. etc. It shows we are starting to play like a team. Sam Hartin, and Curtis McCabe looks like they’ll be a force if they ever get some open ice. Each team we have met seems to be bigger (I think I saw a couple of them shaving before the game) and rougher. Our guys are getting frustrated by being pushed and bullied without being able to retaliate.
