Capture First Win at YCW
The Pee Wee Rep Sailors put their best foot forward Friday night to capture their first win in the 61st Annual Young Canada Week Tournament.

After lining up at the blue line and listening to local singer Anne Potter's inspiring rendition of O Canada, the Sailors played a hard and furious game against the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. Our Pee Wees were bursting with speed and hard hits in the first period, and an abundance of strategic passes made Chase Kulich's first goal possible, assisted by Kody Langlois and Ian Simpson at 7:32. Again in the second, some commanding checks by defencemen Mason Nurse, Rylan Lamb, Ethan Lajeunesse, and Kyle Langlois kept the puck away from Sailor netminder, Jordan Johnson, who was outstanding between the pipes. At 7:43 of the second, Dominic Burbine was able to pop one in the Tillsonburg net after an intense scuffle at the crease. He was assisted by Kulich and Evan Guest. Constant Goderich pressure in the third period led to Kulich's second of the night at 13:03, assisted by Nurse and Burbine. The Tornadoes managed to register a single goal at 8:40, but the Sailors played hard until the horn, and walked away with a 3 - 1 victory.
