PeeWee Sailors CLINCH The Series
On Friday, February 26, the Pee Wee Rep Sailors faced off against the Mitchell Meteors in what turned out to be the series clincher for the Goderich team.
Netminder Jordan Johnson came through time and time again for the Sailors as he stopped some hard, fast shots. The first period saw no scoring from either side, but the Sailors managed to keep the action in the Mitchell end most of the period. The Meteors scored first just 2 minutes into the second period, but Jarred Bakker, assisted by Evan Guest, answered back a few minutes later to tie it up at 1. Then a few minutes later, Stephen De Jager came down the left wing with the puck, circled around the back of the net and scored on the wrap around, putting the Sailors up 2 - 1. The Goderich team was on its heels for a bit in the third period, but held the Meteors at bay, despite being a man short for the last 2 minutes of the period. Way to go, Sailors!!!
