PeeWee Sailors Capture Win in Mitchell
The third match-up between the Mitchell Meteors and the Goderich Pee Wee Rep Sailors Friday night resulted in a definitive Sailors' win.
Branden Bean shut out the Mitchell team 4 - 0 with quick feet and hot gloves. There was no scoring in the first period despite pressure in both ends, and the second period remained scoreless until Kody Langlois blasted one into the net with only 44 seconds left. The third period saw the Sailors rise up to the challenge. At 14:25 Stephen De Jager popped one in, assisted by Nick Souch, to put the Sailors up 2 - 0. Twenty-two seconds later, Souch and De Jager assisted Evan Guest as he found the hole to make it 3 - 0 Goderich. Then Mason Nurse and Guest were able to get the puck up to Souch, who scored the final Goderich goal for a 4 - 0 final.
