PeeWee Sailors Come Up Short In Playoffs....
The Pee Wee Rep Sailors lost their first playoff game to the Kincardine Kinucks on Saturday, January 16. The series continues with GREAT effort from the Sailors, but did not win the series....They are into the WOAA playoffs
The first period saw incredible speed and energy from both teams, but the Kinucks drew first blood with only 4.2 seconds left in the first. In the second period, a controversial Kincardine goal put the Kinucks up 2 - 0, and seemed to deflate the sails of the Sailors. Another goal at 7:48 made it 3 - 0 sailors to end the second period. Early on in the third period 3 more Kincardine goals were scored, but the Sailors started to come back with their second wind. A nice pass up to Evan Guest by Stephen De Jager at 8:00 resulted in Guest deking out the Kincardine defense and scoring a beauty to make it 6 - 1. Five minutes later, Ian Simpson passed the puck to Nick Souch who found the hole and put another in for the Sailors. With 8.8 seconds left in the game, Kody Langlois, unassisted, chipped one in for a 6 - 3 final.
