Impressive Game Against Mitchell Meteors
After a tough 6 - 2 loss against Saugeen Shores on January 2, the Pee Wee Rep Sailors came back with an impressive game against the Mitchell Meteors on Saturday, January 9.
Goalie Branden Bean was impenetrable in net as he shut out the tough Meteors 2 - 0. The first period was scoreless but filled with action and hard hitting checks. A Mitchell player was ejected from the game after hitting from behind, which afforded the Sailors quite a few good opportunities, but nothing materialized. Bean was tested in net during the last minute of the period as the Sailors were penalized and the Meteors fought hard to chip one in. The second period also remained scoreless, but was feisty and aggressive by both sides. The Sailors really stepped up a notch in the third, and at 3:08 Ian Simpson finally cashed one in, unassisted. Kody Langlois scored the insurance goal at 1:25, assisted by Simpson and Kyle Langlois, to make it a 2 - 0 Goderich win.
