Bronze in the Ripley Legion Tournament
Another Bronze for the PeeWee Rep Team

The Goderich Pee Wee Rep Sailors were the runners up in the Ripley Legion Pee Wee Hockey Tournament this past weekend. Saturday, December 5, was a busy day for the Sailors as they suited up three times and won two of their three games. They first met the South Huron team at 11:00 am. The first period was scoreless, but saw pressure by both sides. Just a minute into the second period, South Huron scored to put them up 1 - 0. Not to be outdone, Kody Langlois chipped one in just 8 seconds later to tie the game at one. At 7:01 of the third period, Langlois once again saw an opportunity, and made a key pass to Dominic Burbine, who banked it, putting the Sailors up 2 - 1. That would be the final score of the game.
At 3:00 that afternoon, the Sailors faced off against the Hanover Falcons. After almost a whole period of offensive pressure by the Sailors, Kyle Langlois finally saw an opening and took advantage, putting the Sailors up 1 - 0 with only 11 seconds left in the first. The second period was full of opportunities for the Sailors, and all the while goalie Branden Bean fiercely protected his territory. Near misses by Chase Kulich, Nick Souch, and Evan Guest only served to make the Goderich team hungrier, and at 6:55 of the second period, their perserverance paid off. Kulich scored on a nice pass from Burbine, and Stephen De Jager scored following some intense action in front of the Falcon net minder, making it a 3 - 0 game. The third period saw three more Sailor goals, two by Kody Langlois, and one funny bounce off the Hanover goalie that found its way into the net. A very convincing 6 - 0 shut out for the Sailors.
At 5:30 our team butted heads with the Listowel Cyclones. The Cyclones struck first with two quick goals late in the first period. Before the period was over, though, Nick Souch banked a nice one with just 39 seconds left, making it a
2 - 1 Listowel lead. Things started to go downhill for the Sailors in the second and third periods. The Cyclones were able to score 4 more goals in the second to put them up 6 - 1. Stephen De Jager tried to turn things around with another Goderich goal at 6:16 of the third, but it wasn't to be. Listowel scored two more times before the end of the game, making it an 8 - 2 win for Listowel, and giving our boys the Runner Up trophies.
