McGee Motors Novice Reps Force Game 5
With some confidence behind them, the McGee Motors Novice Reps came out flying in Game 4 against the Seaforth Stars and with a 7-3 win forced a final and deciding Game 5.
In the first period the Sailors rode the momentum from Game 4 and Logan opened the scoring banging in a one timer after receiving a cross crease pass from Sawyer, with the second assist going to Aiden. The home team kept rolling as Iain scored the second Sailor goal after Ella moved the puck up to him. Before the end of the opening frame the Sailors scored another as Kael took another cross crease pass from Sawyer and fired it by the Stars goalie for a 3-0 lead.
In the second the McGee Motors Novice Reps kept coming, as Mason scored a natural hat trick. His first two goals were due to hard work along the boards as he won puck battles, broke down the left wing and fired shots over the goalies out stretched glove. His third goal was more of the same as he again won a puck battle busted down the right side and fired a shot from his off wing, that took a home team bounce past the Stars net minder for a 6-0 Sailor lead. Assists on Mason's goals went to Iain, Caleb, Aiden and Keon. The Stars scored two goals late in the middle frame for a 6-2 score heading to the third.
In the third the Stars cut the lead to 6-3, but the Sailors defence of Ella, Caleb, AJ, and Jared continued to clear pucks away from Keon and chipped pucks out of the zone. Keon made timely saves and the Sailors forwards back checked hard and aggressively, and Sawyer put the nail in the coffin with an empty net goal late in the third for a 7-3 win.
The McGee Motors Novice Reps now travel to Seaforth Wednesday night for the deciding game at 5:30. Come on out and cheer on these young Sailors!!
