Novice McGee Motors Rep, U8, 2014-2015 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

The McGee Motors Novice Reps hosted the Mt. Forest Rams on Saturday morning and came out with a 2-1 win, winning the WOAA Consolation Championship six points to zero. The Mt. Forest Rams were not going to lay down and quit and it showed from the opening puck drop as they came early and often into the Sailors end, however Keon stood tall and kept his team in the game, keeping the first period scoreless heading to the second.

The McGee Motors Novice Reps traveled to Mt. Forest for Game 2 of the WOAA Consolation Final and came out on top with a 3-1 win. The first two periods were a see saw battle as both teams found the back of the net. The Sailors took the lead late in the first period when Logan was able to beat the Rams netminder with a quick low shot. Assists on the goal went to Iain and Aiden. However the lead was short lived as only 30 seconds later the home team tied it up.

On Sunday March 22nd the McGee Motors Novice Reps traveled to Mt. Forest for Game 1 of the WOAA Consolation final. The visiting team did not show any fatigue from traveling and came out flying opening the scoring only three minutes in when Iain made a rush up the ice and fired low shot past the Rams netminder. In the second both teams got into penalty trouble as the Sailors and Rams found themselves down two players at seperate times during the period. However with some key stops from Keon, the Sailors were able to kill of their penalties and scored a power play goal late in the second ...

Over this past weekend the McGee Motors Novice Reps were able to capture a tie and a win which moves them onto the WOAA Consolation Finals. On Friday evening the team traveled to Brussels to face off against the Crusaders. The Sailors went up early with Iain and Logan scoring two beauties into the top corners of the net, ending the first with a 2-1 Sailors lead. Assists on the goals went to Graham and Iain.

This past weekend the McGee Motors Novice Reps started their round robin series with the Mount Forest Rams and the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders. On Saturday they hosted the Rams and came out on the losing end of a close and tightly checked game 2-1. The first period was scoreless as Keon stopped everything that the Rams threw his way, but in the middle of the second period the visiting team opened the scoring after Keon made the first save and the rebound came out to a wide open Rams forward who potted the goal.
