McGee Motors Novice Reps: "Now We Are Champions!"

The Goderich Sailors have won the McClure Division WOAA Championship for the first time ever! Not since the trophy's inception back in 1981 has a Goderich team accomplished this feat. It was a long time coming, but the McGee Motors Novice Rep team were able to defeat the Wingham Ironmen in a dramatic overtime victory that saw them snatch the victory away from the Ironmen. Trailing the Sailors by two games and facing a must-win situation, the Ironmen came determined to win the game. Their passion allowed them to score first. But Goderich worked hard to tie the game before the first period ended.
In the second frame, the Ironmen pulled ahead, this time by two goals, before the Sailors tied it up again! With the game tied 4-4 and only 3:47 left in the game, the Ironmen scored to pull ahead! The Sailors wouldn't quit though, and scored at the 2:50 mark to send the game into overtime! After a couple of good chances at both ends of the rink, the Sailors broke through and scored to secure the victory and the championship! Way to go Sailors! Your hard work and perseverance has finally paid off! You are now, and will always be, the Novice Rep Champions!
