Hard Fought Battle by the Sailors
October 13th -
Blyth/Brussels vs. Goderich Sailors. The combined forces of Blyth and Brussels proved to be a
formidable opponent for the Sailors. The Bulldogs started the game off with two goals in
the first period – but were
answered with a sniper shot by Justin (assisted by Carter) with 10 seconds left
in the period. Going into the
second period with a 2-1 score, the Bulldogs came out strong and landed two
more goals to end the period 4-1.
The Sailors found their groove as a team and turned up the heat in the
third period with a quick goal by Justin (assisted by Scott). Ethan landed another goal (assisted by
Kyler and Lucas). Kyler got the
fourth goal for the Sailors with a beautiful deke on the Bulldog’s goalie.
Nevertheless, the Bulldogs came out strong and were able to answer the three Goderich goals with three of their own to end the game 7-4. Bryson was outstanding in net and was able to repel many of the Bulldogs’ chances with some amazing saves. The Sailors had many of their own chances, but were also shutdown by the Bulldogs’ goalie. The game was an exciting battle between the two teams - with great offense, outstanding goaltending by Bryson and superb defense by the Sailors defensive line. Great game Sailors – keep up the hard work!
