Atom AE, U11, 2011-2012 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

December 2-3 – South Huron Silver Stick.  Following a couple of tough losses at the beginning of the tournament to the daunting Mt. Brydges and Lambeth teams, the Sailors came out fighting in a heart pounding game against the Tavistock Titans.  Kyler got the game rocking early with a beautiful goal less than a minute into the first period (assisted by Ethan).  The rest of the first period (as well as the second period) presented Goderich with numerous scoring opportunities, but still ended 1-0 for the Sailors.  At the 9 minute mark of the third period Kyler made an awesome set-up to Snowden ...

November 26 - Goderich Sailors vs. Normanby Wildcats.  After a tough loss to the first place Mitchell Meteors, the Sailors bounced back beautifully with an outstanding effort against the daunting, second place Normanby Wildcats.  Despite the Sailors coming out strong out in the first period, the Wildcats managed to land 2 goals near the end of the period.  Down 2-0 going into the second period, Kyler put Goderich on the board with a beautiful goal (assisted by Justin) to end the period 2-1.  A minute into the third period, Justin tied the game 2-2 with a nice set-up by Kyler and Jordyn.  

November 19 - Goderich Sailors vs. Mount Forest Rams.  The rematch against the evenly matched Mount Forest Rams was a narrow win with home ice advantage carrying the day for the Sailors.  The first goal of the game went to the Rams at the 5:20 mark of the first period, but was soon answered with a goal by Justin (assisted by Snowden) to end the period tied 1-1.   Justin gave the Sailors a narrow 2-1 edge half way through the second period with top shelf goal that was once again set-up by Snowden.  

November 12 - Goderich Sailors vs. Mount Forest Rams.  The first regular season game against the Mount Forest Rams proved to be an even match-up.  With the first period ending scoreless, the Sailors came out fighting in the second period with many close chances – including two very close attempts by Kyler.  The Rams got a break at the 6:34 mark to land the first goal of the game – but this was answered 3 minutes later with a beautiful goal by Kylen (assisted by Ethan).  Starting the third period tied at 1-1, Mount Forest landed a second goal to pull ahead 2-1.  Logan tied things up at the ...

November 12 - Goderich Sailors vs. Blyth/Brussels.  The rivalry between the evenly matched Goderich and Blyth/Brussels teams continues to make for some exciting hockey!  Despite many close scoring opportunities for the Sailors, Blyth/Brussels got a couple of goals up on the Sailors in the first period.  Going into the second period down 2-0, the Sailors got on the scoreboard with a goal by Kylen (assisted by Kyler) to make it 2-1.  Goderich continued to hammer away at their opponent’s net throughout the second period, but the Blyth/Brussels goalie was able to shutdown their chances to tie the ...
