Bantam Reps Show Character Even in the Face of Defeat
The Bantam Reps battled a tough St. Mary's Rock team on home ice on October 22, and despite the loss, they exemplified determination and character throughout the game.

Within twenty seconds of the opening face-off, the Sailors were skating hard and fast and netted their first goal. A shot from Steve De Jager was blocked by the St. Mary's goalie, but Mykal Hodges was there for the rebound, 1-0 Sailors, with an assist also going to Dominic Burbine. The Rock was able to score on an unfortunate bounce at 6:24 to make it even, 1-1.  An abundance of penalties and some hard hits didn't deter our boys as they continued to pressure their opponents. Burbine and De Jager teamed up once again to get the puck up to Chase Kulich, who put the Sailors back on top, 2-1. With just a couple of minutes left in the first, St. Mary's answered back with a goal of their own, once again tying it up at 2 apiece.
St. Mary's started the second period with a bang, scoring three goals in succession, to put them up 5-2. The Sailors wouldn't let the period end that way though, as they regained one when Tyler Johnston and Rylan Lamb assisted De Jager in a diving backhand that found its mark, 5-3 St. Mary's. The third period was a tough one, with three more St. Mary's goals being scored, but despite that, the Sailors showed heart and a never-give-up attitude as they continued to fight tenaciously, win some battles, and show perseverance right to the end.  The final score was 8-3 for the Rock, but we know our boys will be ready for the rematch on November 9. Way to battle, boys!!!
