Atom Sailors LL, 2009-2010 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

The play-off game that was originally scheduled for Saturday March 13th has been changed to Monday March 8th at 6:00PM in Clinton.

The Atom LL Sailors traveled to Blyth Thursday night to meet up with the Bulldogs for their first match up of the season.

The boys had a busy, yet productive week.  Their parents braved the first winter storm of the year on Wednesday night to travel to Drayton and meet up with the Defenders.  It may have been the long, arduous trip that had the boys come out rather flat in the first two periods.  Stellar goalkeeping by Kyle Prouse kept the boys in the game although they found themselves down 3 – 0 at the end of two periods.

The boys faced a tough Teeswater team on Saturday morning at the Sifto Arena.  The game was tight for the first period and a half with neither team able to get past some stellar defensive work at both ends of the ice. Teeswater finally broke the deadlock with three quick goals.  The boys weren't going to give up easily and they fought back offensively.  From behind the net, Owain Sykes fed the puck out front to Christian Pritchard, who was perfectly positioned to pop one in the net.  The Sailors were now on the board late in the 2nd. The boys were excited to play the BCH Ice Dogs at home on Friday night.  Coming off their first winning streak of the season they were determined to increase it to 3 games in a row.
