Atom AE, 2008-2009 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

On Dec.14 the Food Basics Atom AE Team traveled to Mitchell for their last regular season meeting. The Sailors playing again with a short bench due to injuries played a tough game taking the lead early in the first and holding the lead for the period. Again early in the second Goderich would notch another, midway through the period Mitchell would get on the board but again the Sailors struck back ending the period with a 3-1 lead. The Atom AE Team traveled to Tillsonburg to take part in their first tournament of the season on Nov.7-8. The first game the team would face Thorold a BB center. The game would be back and forth with the lucky bounces going to Thorold and eventually taking the win 3-2. Goals were scored by Andy Clark and Mitchell Consitt with assists going to Kody Ritchie and Kyle Larkin. The second game of the day the team would face Wellington another BB center and a much better team than Thorold. On Saturday Oct. 26 the Atom AE team traveled to Howick for their first meeting of the season. The period started off with a goal just 45 seconds in by Andy Clark assisted by Kyle Larkin. Howick would answer back at 7:14 of the period to tie up the game. There would be no more scoring until 1:02 remaining in the period with another goal by Andy Clark assisted by Kyle Larkin and Thomas Pritchard. The remainder of the game would be end to end hockey with both teams getting many scoring opportunities.
